1968 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Bus Description

You are looking at an incredible 1968 garage-kept, original paint, VW bus. Such a nice and classic bus! This bus belonged to a personal friend of mine, he always stored this bus in his garage and took really good care of it. He said he rebuilt the original engine once, and the mileage only shows 52,742 which may be correct. This bus runs excellent, and the clutch and transmission are perfect.

We recently rebuilt the brakes and detailed the body. We repainted the bumpers, which were in excellent shape. This bus has absolutely no rust. There are a couple of dents in the body we chose to leave because of the original paint. We think the right rear quarter panel may have been painted at one time. The motor and motor compartment look excellent. The floor boards and the front and rear cargo area look like new.

The interior is in excellent condition. The door panels are original, and in great condition. All the glass is original, and in good shape, the windshield isn't perfect. The rear middle seat is original, we replaced the front seat covers with Wolfsburg seat covers and new pedestal rubber. This bus is electrically sound, but the gas gauge only works part of the time. All 5 wheels are original, and dated 5/68 very rare! The tires are fair, and we are including 2 extra tires and wheels for snow tires.

This is the nicest, rust-free, original paint bus that I have seen for many years. It is very rare to see one like this up for auction.
