2005 Volkswagen Jetta wagon TDi Description

The time has come to sell my 2005 VW Jetta TDI Wagon. This has been a fantastic car, which returned even more fantastic fuel mileage (41 city, 50+hwy, 45 avg) with the fuelly account to prove it. Reason I am selling is I have a shoulder injury that will no longer allow me to drive a manual transmission. My plan was to keep this forever, so I took care of everything needed for the next 100K miles -- just jump in and drive this TDI. Been smogged and checked out recently in SF and passed with flying colors.
About the model:
This is the last year of the MK4 lineup -- so they had most of the bugs figured out. Additionally all the wagons were made in Germany, so these were even better constructed. They had the PD BEW TDI engine in this model -- the PDs are now the latest legal TDI model that can be on the road in the US. And the BEW was the best of the PD lineup (the later BRM was problematic). This particular example has passed smog with flying colors recently and is in top notch mechanical shape. Pulls hard on the low RPMs as a TDI should, and no smoking (from the car or driver) when driving. Tight suspension (new Bilstein shocks/tie rods/control arms) and no slop in the shifter.
About this example:
This has been a California vehicle for 99.99% of it life. It was originally shipped into Colorado in 2005 and the owner then promptly drove it back to CA and registered it. I am the second owner. Not a speck of rust on this example, and does not leak a drop of anything.
Other stuff:
-It has Bluetooth wired into stock deck (though 6-disc audio input), iphone cable, and aux input that sounds fantastic. Wired into the ignition so start the car, it'll connect automatically with the phone and starts playing music. If a call comes in, there is a microphone in the Bluetooth unit that sounds good (needed for manual transmission).
- The circle in the middle above the deck is a magnet to hold a phone (I'll include the metal plate you put in your phone case to mount)
-I still have all the mats and headrests for the rear (not in pics)
-The Audi A4 steering wheel was a direct replacement for the VW one, it is much more comfortable (thicker rim) and makes the vehicle feel smaller (smaller diameter)
-The rearview mirror is from an Audi A4 and has a compass and auto darkening.
-automatically open/close windows from remote
-Comes with Yakima rack (but I'll keep it if you don't want it)-GLS model options, including moonroof, mirrors, 15" alloy wheels, and traction control. All the power options (windows, locks, cruise control), A/C, heat, and seats work as they should.
-There are some bumps and bruises on the outside and inside. Some sand from beach trips (can never get it all). But very clean for the most part. This is an 11 year old car and is a strong drivermechanically. I would drive this anywhere.
Recent Maintenance:
A stack of receipts since new. I was planning on keeping this forever, thus no deferred maintenance whatsoever -- everything has been replaced on time, if not ahead of time. Do nothing but oil changes for the next 95K miles.
I never have had one hiccup with this Jetta at all. The most recent maintenance is as follows:
201,231: Oil change
-Full synthetic 5w40 Rotella T6
-Mann oil filter
-Cam and lifters inspected for wear (and look perfect, have pictures)
-Valve cover gasket
-New heated windshield washer nozzles
-New right and left full (inner and outer) tie rods replaced
196,876: Full 100k timing belt job. Including:
-Brand new seals, belts, pullys etc.
-New metal impeller water pump-new thermostat and housing
-Coolant flush and fill with G13++ VW spec coolant
191,295
-Oil filter kit
-Motul 5w40 synthetic oil
-air/fuel/cabin filters
-Lubromoly diesel purge flush
-new right skirt piece
181,398
-All 4 brand new Michellin p195/65r15 tires MXv4 S8 ($750)
-Front pad and rotors
178,406
-Oil filter kit
-Motul 5w40 synthetic oil
-air/fuel/cabin filters
-ATE dot 4 brake flush
- Brand new intake boost hoses (tabs wear out)
. . . this goes on since mile 1 in the stack of records.
But notable in the last 30K:
-Brand new Bilstein shocks in a 4 four corners
-New EGR system (unit, coolant hoses, etc)
-New glow plugs (upgraded metal vs ceramic)
-Alternator Clutching pulley
