1964 Volkswagen Type III Notchback Model S Description

I was unable to complete the prior auction, the ignition went out a few days after I listed it. New ignition and battery installed and the car is running great. This car was completely restored less than 40,000 miles ago.Always parked in the garage for the 10 years we've owned it.Body is in great condition with no dents. The ruby red paint is in great condition on the exterior, interior, engine compartment and trunk. The car interior is complete and in good to average overall condition. This is the S model with a 1500 engine with dual carbs. Recent tune up. Turns heads everywhere it goes. Took it to the Pomona auto swap meetlast weekend and somebody pointed out thatI don't have the correct mirrors on the car and the head light rings are incorrect. Theheadlight rings are from 1967 and are pretty rare, but not correct for the car.The front vehicle ID plateunder the hood is missing, which apparently is not uncommon, but I was told would make it difficult to sell at an auto auction. Heater and all the lights and electricalare in working condition. Clock doesn't work. The windshieldvent doesn't work. We added seatbelts. I can't findemergency light switch, so it either doesn't have one or it doesn't work. At least a dozen VW fans/ owners have told me in the past 2 weeks not to sell the car, and I will regret it forever. The guy at the shop that sold the new ignition said the same thing. My daughter is going to college in August, so it's time to sell the toys. Quite a few people at the auto swap meet mentioned that it was pretty clean and I wouldn't have a problem getting$15,000 for the car on Samba (listing it there today).
