1968 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Description

1968 Volkswagon Karman Ghia ConvertibleVery Nice and a joy to drive! 1886cc engine with dual Kadron carbs/dual exhaust. Vehicle was previously restored and shown.Always garaged and gently driven (it wants more). She starts every time I need her to and she runs great! Worthy of being daily driver, every thing works appropriately. My son and I drive her to lacrosse tournaments. The top is newer and in great condition. Minor rust spot beginning to show under front headlight on passenger side.I hate to sell her, but decisions must be made. The reserve is set thousands below book value. I can assist with shipping, but prefer local pick up.

Due to the amount of questions I'm receiving that for which I don't have all of the answers:My mother purchased this vehicle on EBay May of 2007. The DB (yes he is) that sold it to her listed the vehicle as a fully restored show car (I do believe that it was previously, but not at this point). The restoration was amateur, at best. Rotting rubber (window scrapers, tires, etc..), no brakes, bad tie rods, windshield wipers that didn't make contact with windshield, carb linkage was zip tied onto the ball ends at carbs, stickers over the rust spot in the engine compartment and the list goes on.Unfortunately, she paid $14,000 for it. Furthermore, she made a 1000 mile drive to pick it up in person to go over the vehicle with the owner from whom she bought it. Obviously, he never showed his face (coward). She invested thousands of dollars to get it back to a safe working order.Since then, Mom has gone back to work. In June/July of 2014 I brought the vehicle from Austin, Tx to Wilmington, NC. Just before I brought it back, vehicle received a servicing from top to bottom by a vintage VW specialist. While there are still some TLC projects to be had, I repaired only the items that bothered me. A view from the road sees a near flawless specimen and always attracts looks and questions.I'm not an expert, nor do I claim such. I don't know what body work has ever been done (aside from a ton of paint [including painting over the fuse box (which explained a lot after I discovered and cleaned)].The vehicle looks and runs great, which has fulfilled my needs. However, a diehard fan will probably want to give some TLC.It is my goal to disclose everything possible and to sell it at a fair price. I don't want anyone to be disappointed or go through the turmoil that my mom did.2 small dentson rear bumperRust under passenger headlightInterior carpet (previously installed) installation looks lazy2 teeth missing on flywheel (every once in a while, there's a skip when starting.
