2003 Volkswagen Jetta Description

This Jetta wagon is a honey and will provide the lucky winner many more years of diesel fun and enjoyment. I have owned this car for the last ten years - buying it as a three year old fresh from the Carlisle, PA auction (she spent her first three years as a local delivery vehicle and dealer demo for an east coast VW dealership). I have meticulously changes oil, brakes and all the required items at or before required times. Timing was done just under 100k by the stealership and all other intervals have been met. Tires are Goodyear triple tread assurance (with few miles) and she rides like it is on rails (I love these tires so much, we have them on my wife's TDI Beatle, her mom's Acura and dads Ranger pickup!)
I had all the shocks, struts, bushings and such done about 10k ago. I also installed new oem Hella headlamps (not cheapo Chinese knockoffs - these sell for ever $200 each!) and she shines brightly at night. Rotors and pads are almost new. We have also done turbo boost vacuum and all the goodies which cause the proverbial never ending check engine light problems. We replaced the exhaust manifold about 50k ago (replaced both of our TDI at the same time). Manifolds came from the TDI guy in charlotte? Mann filters and VW cert synthetic oil like clockwork.
Now for the realistic no smoke up your A$$ truth. She has a good scratch right up the middle of the front hood from a mud clump that fell off a dump truck. It has been sanded and primed and paint applied - but it does look like she has a scratch on her forehead. The back bumper is also slightly lumpy from getting pushed to jumpstart by my buddy when neither of us had cables (and new napa battery shortly after that escapade and new starter and alternator at the same time - 2015).
She also has a few warts here and there. Somewhat worn driver seat and arm rest and headliner not perfect. As with the chronic design flaw her seat heaters don't work, even after stealership replacemet (they both get too hot - uncomfortably so and uneven heat distribution). The gas cap door lever is disfunctional and the electric key fob doesn't open/unlock the doors/alarm (which all work fine with the old school manual key setting and locking).
One odd item is even with new pads and sensors, the abs light comes on intermittently - but she stops on a dime and still gives change. I am not willing to go to the stealership to fix that. We replaced the sensors to no avail.
New front wheel bearings this fall too.
The clock also resets to 12:00 noon and the trip meter resets to zero every time the engine is turned off.
Tiny bits of rust here and there - front right wheel well and back left well- but none abnormal. Also, general wear and tear commensurate with a 14 year old car.
Manual transmission works fine with never a clutch problem or difficulty.
Plastic engine cover cracked but of little consequence or effect.
Moon roof doesn't leak and works solid with no complications
All four windows have solid original made in USA ventvisors and rear trunk liner intact.
Nicer alloy wheels are good. Used with normal wear and tear. Not the cheaper steel rims. Tires slighty oversized at 205/65/15. I am pretty sure oem is 185, but the 205s fit fine and truly are great tires for this car which handles great with the shocks and stuff done last year.
So, you wisely ask why I am selling? We love her and have another TDI with fewer miles that we will keep and I bought a new Honda Crosstour awd last year. We kept this as a back up and it really doesn't make sense for a two driver house to have three cars. So, before taxes come due this fall and insurance renews this summer, she is off to a new home for another decade.
Note - I reserve the right to end the auction early and while it is unlikely to sell parked in my front yard, there is a for sale sign on the dash.
Deposit required to hold until full payment is provided and cleared. Clean Connecticut title will be provided with full bill of sale.
Buyer is responsible to deliver, pickup or otherwise make arrangements to come get car. It is located in East Haven CT.
Delivery and any exchange conducted at police station. Local garage avaiable to put on lift if you prefer.
Also just cleaned and repaired/renewed the front hood latch so she works like a charm (was getting stuck - great now). See pic.
