We are sellingthis very rare Bertone 262c Volvo. It belongs to a family member whom drove it almost daily until 2 months ago when changes in life would no longer allow him to drive. He bought it roughly 3 years ago. He had seen this specific model in Europe when they were new backin 1978 and never forgot it,so he bought this one. During the last three years it has had the radio repaired (original) fuel pump replaced, fuel filters changed, tuned at a shop locally specializing in Volvos, two new tires recently installed (replaced due to age not wear), brakes r&r, cooling system has been gone through ( radiator re-cored, water pump, thermostat, and hoses), speedometer cable, and the antennahave beenreplaced.Everythingin the car works including theair conditioning, cruise control and the overdrive for the 5 speed manual transmission. The onlyaccessory that I amaware of having a issue is the tachometer, I believe it may be a loose connection, because when I drove the car last week to have it detailed the tach workedsome of the time. This is the fuel injected v6 and during my inspection of the car everything looks to be in place and not all hacked up. This is a very original car. The car has never been overheated and has been driven by my stepfather who is 53 years old, so it has not been abused at the hands of teenager. The original vinyl top is ingreat shape with no holes or rips and bothoriginal crown logoson both sides are in good shape. The head liner is in good shape also. The air conditioningblows very cold and still uses r12! Windows are goodwith no cracks. The Bertone was a very unusual model if your not familiar with this model, it had many neat features. I have seen these go for as much as $12,000.00 dollars over the last few years with far more miles than this one. I have included pics of the vin# to verify it is indeed a Bertone model fromItaly and the trim plate infofrom the engine compartment. It also has the original owners manual in the glove box.
The only reason we are selling the Volvo is because he can not drive anymore. He really loves this car, he feels its better to let it go than have it sit and rot in the garage. I hope who ever wins this auction continues to drive and enjoy it.
