1999 bmw 540iA Sport
1999 BMW 5-Series Description
Murdered out black on black 1999 540i with the M-sport package, which includes upgrades to the suspension and differential, as well as the M-sport steering wheel, blacked out trim, and other things(see the pics of the original window sticker). This is a professionally done blackout job, and it is every bit as good looking as the pics show. This car is very fast, runs great and smooth, and sounds wonderful(the engine as well as the premium sound system). A/C works great, as do all power windows, seats, locks, and sunroof.
This car has had a lot of work done recently.
In the last month:
3 of the 4 speed sensors replaced
New CCV(crankcase vent) valve
New intake, valve cover, and throttle body gaskets
New VANOS seals
New Spark Plugs
Oil separator retrofit(eliminates the need to ever have the internal OSV replaced)
New hood and trunk emblems
New thrust arm bushings
New timing chain tensioner
All new vacuum hoses on top of the engine
New activated charcoal cabin filters
New cupholders front and rear
New battery jump start terminal
New cooling fan clutch
In the last year:
New window motor
New water pump
All 8 coils replaced at 140k miles
Interior is 9/10, no rips or tears, leather is still soft and smooth to the touch. Headliner on the suroof panel is just starting to come loose, and the fabric on the A-pillars is loose on the edges. No dead pixels on the gauge cluster or the computer, a few out on the radio(still legible).
Exterior is 9.5/10, one tiny scuff on front bumper, and that's it. The paint is deep, shiny, and almost flawless. It has aftermarket BBS style 17x8 wheels(none of which have EVER touched a curb), 245/45-17 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires with about half of the tread life left. Brakes are in good condition, with good pedal feel. Transmission shifts exactly how and when it should, whether in full auto, sport, or manual mode. Comes with the original owners manual/service booklet/window sticker, and 1 key(with new buttons).
The only things that could be addressed are:
1.) It still has a small oil leak at thethe valve covers. It leaks about .5 quart per 1000 miles.
2.) The ABS does not work, I don't know why, but the brakes are otherwise in great shape.
3.) The power lumbar function does not work on either front seat.
You will be very hard pressed to find another one of these this nice inside and out. MSRP was $58,370!
