When i purchased this BMW, it was in need of some work, and I put over $4000 into it to bring it up to par. Repairs and work done include:
Replaced the radiator cooling fan assembly
Replaced rear coolant crossover gasket, cover and bolts
Replaced the cooling reservoir
Water Pump & Pulleys
Replaced all front lower control arms & sway bar links
4 New Delinte D8 Desert Storm tires (currently have about 14,000 miles on them)
Four wheel alignment
Replaced rear brakes and rotors
Front and rear brake pad electronic wear sensor
Toe adjustment
This has been my wife's vehicle, and the majority of the miles that she has put on have been easy, highway commuter miles. The V8 runs incredibly strong, and it is surely a joy to drive.
Repairs yet to be addressed:
There is currently a "Self Leveling Suspension Inactive" light on the dash. This came on a few weeks ago, but nothing has changed with the ride or suspension level, so my mechanic believes it may just be the sensor. Additionally, the steering column adjustment motor is bad and it can't be adjusted. The steering wheel positioning was always fine for me, so I simply never felt the need to change it out. I see you can commonly find replacement motors here on ebay for around $50, and from what I read, it's a fairly straightforward, easy repair to DIY. Lastly, there is a small coolant leak and requires the adding of coolant every few weeks. For the mechanically inclined, these would be manageable repair projects. I would gladly take them on myself if my wife wasn't so set on quickly moving on to something with better gas mileage for her commutes.
Thank you for viewing the auction, and please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions via the contact information below. Additionally, I have the X5 listed locally, and reserve the right to end the auction early if it would sell. Additionally, mileage could vary slightly since it will still be driven during the duration of the auction. Thanks!
