Up for auction is my 2002 BMW 530i M-sport with rare 5 speed manual transmission! it is Silverblue metallic over black leather interior. This car is enthusiast-owned and has been my daily driver for the past year and a half. The car drives very smooth and the engine pulls strong with no oil leaks, fan belt squeals or rattles. The clutch and 5 speed transmission shifts great with no sign of slippage. Brakes are also excellent. New Michelin Pilot Supersport tires. A/C blows ice cold and strong and heater also works fantastic. The car has been driven every day in hot Florida weather and the temperature gauge stays dead center with no overheating.
The following typical e39 5 series issues have been already addressed: new head cover gasket, fuel pump, power seats repaired, radio pixel fix, radiator w/hoses, new thermostat, MAF sensor.
The car does have some outstanding repairs for a vehicle typical of this age and mileage: the CEL light is currently on, diagnosed as vacuum lines which have some leaks. Estimated cost to repair is $150-$200.The traction control and ABS lights are currentlytriggered on the dash, which has been diagnosed bya BMW technician as an ABS pressure switch (costs approximately $260.00 to replace inc. labor). Driveability is not effected.
The car came with one key (not functioning)and one spare valet key, which means that there is no remote lock/unlock feature. The valet key works just fine and lock/unlocks everything.
Finally, the passenger front and rear left windows roll down slowly and likely requires a regulator and/or new switch. I have stopped working them to make sure they do not get stuck in the down position. The rear power window shade works great, but the manual shades in the back will need replacement or can simply be removed.
Cosmetically, the car has the expected stone chips on the front hood and bumper. I already had a professional shoprespray the rear bumper, which was fading a bit but now looks great. Two small dings on the left rear door and one ding on the edge of the trunk (see photo).
The headlights were previously restored well, but after a year and a half, they could probably use another quick restoration. Xenons and Halos work great.
This car will be a great daily driver or second errand runner for its next owner ora great car for a BMW enthusiast looking for an LCI e39 M-Sport 5-spd to enjoy and continue restoration.
