1988 BMW M5 NO RESERVE Description

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1988 BMW M5. 189k miles; extensive service records dating back to the early 1990s. Clean CarFax with no accidents. All factory VIN tags in place. Repainted once to a decent, but not perfect, standard. Some of the anodized trim is fading -- car has lived most of its life in New Mexico and Florida and definitely looks a little sun baked, but is not rusty. The interior especially could use some TLC -- driver's door panel, front seats and steering wheel are in poor condition; cracked dash has aftermarket plastic cover. Carpet is dingy. Center console is loose. Most of the power seat functions work most of the time; rear windows are slow. Power locks work, power mirrors don't. A/C blows cold. All gauges and lights are working.

Starts, runs and drives well (be sure to watch the driving video). Remarkably complete service records totaling tens of thousands of dollars over the life of the car. Major work includes stainless exhaust and a Dinan Stage 2 suspension in 1998, rear subframe mounts in 2007, new radiator, remanufactured gearbox and clutch in 2008, new fan and fan clutch in 2010, and a new A/C compressor in 2015 (system has been converted to R-134a). Heater core has been bypassed due to a leak. The car is also overdue for new tires. There may be other unknown (and unknowable) mechanical needs due to age and mileage.
