Up for auction is a ‘68 Chevrolet C10 long bed pickup truck. It has been senior citizen owned for the last 30 years, so it’s all stock and hasn’t been abused. The owner’s manual is in the glove box & we even have the original factory build sheet!
Although the orange paint has a few flaws, it still shines & is very pleasing to the eyes. The body is in great shape with only a few minor dings and dents. The worst being the dent in the right cab corner (see photo).
The bed & wooden planking is in outstanding condition. Owing to the facts that the truck was used for recreational purposes rather than hauling & the bed was shielded from weather conditions by a camper shell (which was installed on the truck for decades).
The truck has coil springs all around & the frame is in great condition with just a light coating of surface rust.
The Chevy is equipped with a 250 six cylinder engine that runs well & a rebuilt powerglide transmission that shifts flawlessly. The truck also rides like a champ, tracks straight, and is comfortable to ride in. It has standard steering & brakes.
The interior is all stock including the steering wheel, horn button, knobs, heater controls & radio. Amazingly...the radio still works!
Rust damage is minimal and is evident in only a few places in the rocker panels (see photos).
The only thing missing on the C10 is the tailgate (the camper shell’s design prohibited use of the original tailgate. So it was set aside & somehow got lost through the years).
This 48 year old classic is just plain cool and is sure to put a big smile on anyone who appreciates old survivor trucks,
Most car guys will also recognize that this truck would be an ideal candidate for modern updating.
The high bidder is responsible to arrange for transportation of this car. We will be glad to coordinate with your shipper. Thanks!
