1996 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie Description

1996 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually,

5.9 liter 12 valve Cummins Diesel,

Automatic, Extended cab, 4X4,

144,000 miles, Original owner

·Garage kept

·Less than 7k miles a year average

·Synthetic oil for first 125k miles, now Rotella - always at 5k increments.

·Laramie extended cab (2 door) Package

oAC, PW, PDL, PS, Infinity sound (speakers still installed), Limited Slip 4:10 rear end, rear ABS, nicer cloth seat material (no leather & no remote door locks back then – how did I survive all these years ….)

·Have window sticker, all original documents and books including 1996 sales brochure.

·Original paintshines like new

oSmall chips and a few minor dings and dents (143k miles and 20 years,it is still in amazing condition)

·Interior is very nice,

oVery clean with minimal staining and scuffs.Driver’s seat is just now starting to wear through on the edge, and has a small hole (from needle nose pliers in the pocket-again 20 yrs and 143k miles still pretty amazing condition).

Updates and changes:

·Vinyl roll up bed cover

·Bed liner

·Stainless running boards (reduces stone chips)– easily removable

·Bilstien front shocks

·MBRP turbo back exhaust

·K&N cold air intake (have stock airbox)

·TST #8 fuel plate installed, setup for minimal smoke, (stock was 180hp & 405torque – now 230hp & 605 torque, claims 0-60 & 40-80 times to be cut in half, not sure but it was an impressive, seat of the pants, change when installed).

·TST “killer dowel pin” repair kit installed.

·In dash CD player (have stock radio)

·Jasper Transmission

·Dana 80 limited slip clutch pack replaced- less than 1k miles ago

·265/75x16 Yokohoma GeolanderA/TS all terrain tires 60% tread or better

·¼” wheel spacer in rear

·Tinted rear windows (one small corner of side window film missing).

·Front and rear brakes just checked – all good

·After market headlights with Xenon bulb conversion – (have silver star bulb also).Made lights MUCH better, but after market Xenon takes time to “warm up” (when switching from low to high beams)I mostly run low beams -they are that much better than stock

·New evaporator and heater core this fall – jeez that was a pain and expensive to replace!

·Normal maintenance – water pump, hoses, oil for; engine transfer case, axels, & transmission all changed periodically.

·Two new batteries10/28/16

Things that could be better;

·Driver’s seat starting to wear through on outer edge

·Small shallow dent on drives door from someone’s mirror when door was blown open in a high wind.

·Paint is wearing off bottom of door jamb from getting in out of the truck

·Several minor dings in the doors

·Numerous stone chips over the years

·Roof trim strip missing on passenger side, cannot see it from the ground.

·Wheel skin steering wheel cover shows wear, stock leather steering wheel is under this cover. Cover was added to thicken the wheel.

·Original floor mats are showing wear.

·Passenger side vanity mirror glass as come unglued inside the visor.Kind-a moves around when you flip the visor down

Truck is in fantastic condition.Sounds good, looks awesome, and drives great. There is very little “wandering” and no “death shake” since it is all original suspension height.

Pulled 24’ race car trailer multiple times a year which is less than 10,000#, pulls 3000# small enclosed bike trailer locally 20 times a year. Otherwise it has been driven unburdened.

Very hard to find a 12 valve truck in this condition that has been adult owned and driven for 20 years by the same person.

Expensive - but not sure it can be replicated or at least it will be very hard to find.
