1999 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.

Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1999 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4x4 with the desirable 4.0L V6. The Ford Explorer is based off of the rugged and reliable Ford Ranger pick-up, which makes them very tough andcapable SUV's. I would rate the exterior of this Explorer Eddie Bauer to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. Please keep in mind that this is an older vehicle with mileage in excess of 200k miles. The light green and tan two tone Eddie Bauer exterior shows very well for its age. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific explorer, there are a few plastic trim pieces missing. There is some ruston the bottom of the tail gate and therockers are rusted through, which is common for this age...the worst of the rust being on the left side rear in the bottom of the fender curve. The finish shines nicely and looks smooth all around. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well for their age and are wrapped in a matching set of rubber. Tire tread is thin all around. You'll most likely need tires for inspection. If you want, I can get a good set of used tires put on it for $200...just let me know at the end of the auction and we'll work that out.

I would rate the interior of this Explorer to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, the interior would pass for half the miles. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets are thick and full looking throughout the interior. The leather seats are soft and supple, showing almost no wear. Both front seats are embroidered with the Eddie Bauer logo. Both front seats are power operated. The power windows, locks, seast and mirrors work properly. The RF window doesn't go down straight and probably will need a new regulator to work properly. The sunroof tilts up but doesn't slide back...it looks like it isn't going back straight and gets bound up. The audio system is original and sounds good. It has a cassette and CD player, with a CD changer in the center console and steering wheel audio controls. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. The air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR. The cargo area is spacious and clean. A full set of all weather floor mats are included.

Mechanically, this Explorer appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.0L V6 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older truck. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keep perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure. There have been no idiot lights on during my road test. The worst I can say about this truck is that you can hear the exhaust rattle around a little and I think there is a small exhaust leak, too...most likely the same issue. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. The 4WD system is tested and working properly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with no complaints. The worst I can say is a light vibration in the wheel at highway speeds...nothing terrible. Knowing that the tires are worn, I'd say they're probably the cause. If you're looking for a clean 4x4 that hasn't been all used up, this one deserves your consideration. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
