As fall sets in here in the Mid West you begin to see the metamorphosis that transpires when mother nature begins to display her handy work.

One of my favorite attributes regarding fall here in Missouri is the falling of leaves & cool temperatures but, no matter the season there’s still lots of fun to be had!

I believe the best way to kick off the season is by burning a little rubber in this sinister Raven Black classic Ford Mustang Convertible while simultaneously blowing tired fallen leaves by the wayside!

If you’ve seen enough Mach’s, fastbacks & coupes sit back and enjoy some details regarding this rare rag top!

This beautiful 1969 Ford was purchased by a high school principal in Iowa during the summer of 1969.

He took possession of it at Crown Ford which was only about twenty miles from his residence.

The car was used extensively over the first decade primarily as a daily driver. However sometime around the mid eighties he parked it and began to utilize the family station wagon which was better suited for his kids.

After his retirement the pony was put out to pasture and offered for sale. Another local product who knew of the cars lineage bought it and enjoyed the car for about seven years before being sent overseas to help serve his country.

Upon his return he began to restore the car. First on his priority list was to bring the cars exterior back to life. This would be done by removing the original lacquer paint from the panels and finding a reputable shop to complete the task.

He called upon K & N Street Rods and Customs to address the matter. This particular company is known for turning out some of the best custom cars in the Mid West.

By all accounts there was over 40 man hours spent massaging the panels and prepping the car before the paint was applied!

When all was done the shop enlisted their veteran craftsman to lay down several rich coats of Raven Black enamel!

Let me say at this point the finished product is simply breath taking! The exterior is smooth to the touch and extremely shiny! It is also void of the common mistakes along the circumference of the body that an amateur makes when taking on such a job.

Although I have been a fan of brightly colored cars throughout my life this little Mustang quickly changed my mind!

The dark exterior almost looks wet in direct sunlight and shows a hint or aura of navy blue at night!

If you aren’t a people person or don’t like random strangers approaching you “this is not the vehicle for you”!!!

Once the car leaves the garage everyone’s drawn to it! It is common place to have people take pictures with their cell phones & constantly question you about what year it was manufactured!

Another special conversation piece are the flame red rocker panels racing stripes that grace the lower body line “wonderful contrast & the perfect touch”!

Before the car was released from the body shop they also made sure that every single piece of chrome and stainless trim was replaced!

This includes but is not limited to the;

door handles, locks, rocker moldings, head light bucket trim, emblems, gas cap, hood moldings, grille, running horse, fender script, antenna, exterior markers, and too much more to list!

This Blue Oval still has the Ford racing staple iconic hood scoop firmly attached to the body with menacing racing mirrors!

There’s yet more good news “all of the supporting glass is intact and securely attached to the tracks! To anyone who is familiar with the 69 models enduring problems with the door glass can be expected (unless the issues involving the adhesive and window tracks have been attended to). No worries here all of the hard work has been done for you!

The Raven Black canvas top on this Mustang really helps to add yet more flavor!

It is less than a month old and looks incredible!

Only the best would do for this well cared for Ford so the upholstery shop ordered a TMI production top for installation! TMI happens to be a leader in reproduction tops “excellent fit & finish”!

Before the top was installed a brand new set of top pads were attached to the frame along with additional supporting material.

It is important to mention at this point that the top is manually operated! No need to struggle with expensive leaking hydraulic lines, messy reservoirs or outrageously priced power top motors! This top literally lowers in a millisecond with just the flick of the lever on each side!

When the top goes down on this vintage stallion it presents the perfect picture!

All & all the exterior is extremely pleasing to the eye!

She’s ready for any venue

SHOW OR GO!

Now that I have talked a bit about this Mustangs exterior let’s see what see has inside.

Upon opening the door of this classic Mustang you will quickly appreciate its uniform clean interior!

The Raven black upholstery throughout is in excellent condition! The seat covers are like new…..flawless! The complete interior was restored at Baden Classic Upholstery shop in St. Louis City. The vehicle was actually taken 60 miles to this particular shop because the owner wouldn’t compromise in regards to quality!

The seat buns, seat cushions, seat covers & almost every other stitch of this cars interior was replaced at that time (2016).

The dash pad, sill plates & attaching hardware was also restored at this time! There are no imperfections to be found!

A new N.O.S. console shifter plate and handle was properly installed as well.

Before the interior was positioned back inside this beauty a brand new full length carpet was ordered from Missouri Mustang to be configured underneath.

There also has been new window cranks, interior door handles and window weather stripping installed!

The hours of labor and man hours taken to bring the interior to its current state can’t be properly measured however the potential new owner should absolutely love cruising this Mustang!

You will notice an immediate difference once you sit inside in comparison to many of the other Mustang on the road today! I would describe any excursion as a pleasurable one “very comfortable and user friendly”!

Finally expect to find a super nice steering wheel inside this pony car along with a great set of factory gauges!

All of the interior lights are still shining bright & the dash lights are actually functioning!

Placed underneath your feet will be yet more Mustang Magic that easily displays pony pride!

A new set of carpeted embossed pony floor mats add just the right touch!

All & all the interior of this Mustang is in just of good of shape inside as it is out!

This is truly an incredible vehicle that is ready to be enjoyed!

This car actually takes you back to 1969 each & every time you climb behind the wheel!

Something else that shouldn’t be overlooked easily is the trunk of this pony car! This Mustang has a very nice trunk and mat that looks fantastic!

Now that I have given several reasons why you should love this Ford…… I will talk about yet why a few Chevy guys hate it!

No Mustang can truly be considered a muscle car without having a factory V/8!

The heart and soul of this horse is its STOUT factory 302 engine. The low mileage block inside this Mustang loves the open road! There has been several upgraded performance parts installed for extra horse power!

THIS PONY RUNS STRONG!!!!

A new Eldelbrock four barrel carburetor and a Eldelbrock performance intake lays under the hood that has been tuned for quick response!

Joining the fight to ensure that this little pony would have respectable street numbers are high output opti spark racing plug wires and double gapped plugs!

Although I am not much of gear head ….the simple equation here is “power is on tap if needed”!

LET’S LISTEN!!!

This one leaks no fluids! Thanks in part to new waterpump, thermostat, gaskets, seals, fuel pump and oil sending unit! Charging is also optimal since the car has had a new alternator, battery, belts, starter and just too much more installed too list!!!

One trip in this Mustang makes it nearly impossible to want to return home! I recently drove the car approx. 70 miles without a hic cup! I found it hard to pry myself out of the seat when it was time to go!

There is also a fairly new radiator installed to help keep things cool!

This vintage vehicle has had almost every item under the sun addressed in every way to ensure trouble free operating and care free fun!

It is one you can actually take the wife out in for a night on the town.

If you have been looking for a classic Mustang that you can enjoy with confidence then look no further!

This car also has had the suspension refurbished in various ways. (Amazing ride & handling)!

It has fairly new brakes in front with a great set of non asbestos brake shoes in the rear!It also has recent wheel cylinders, brake hardware & backing plates installed.

Helping to bring the sweet note song thorough is a custom chambered dual exhaust system!

I simply love hitting the throttle of this Mustang!

It has a nostalgic growl that is unleashed each time the pedal is mashed! A new set of Flow Master 40 Series performance mufflers stationed along the chasis! This vehicle even breaths more freely than most since it’s had a set of BBK long tube headers joined to the block and exhaust system!

Here you have the total package. A classic Ford Mustang that sounds & looks incredible!

To top things off there is a like new set of 15x8 inch Magnum rally wheels installed (Bull Dog aggressive stance)!

Placed at all four corners as well are a set of brand new white letter performance tires!

This Ole Ford stops traffic! Don’t miss out on your chance to own a quality investment! You may find another pony but you will be hard pressed to find one in this condition! This Mustang has been meticulously maintained!!!

There is an old saying you get what you pay for

“In this case you will be getting more”!

There is a very reasonable reserve that has been placed on this car! It will be for sale locally!!!

As if it couldn’t get any better I waited to mention the most important part last!

SHE”S RUST FREE!

WHETHER THIS IS THE CAR FOR YOU ARE ANOTHER ….DON’T RUIN YOUR EXPERIENCE BY INVESTING IN A RUSTY VEHICLE! RUST REPAIR CAN BE EXPENSIVE!
