Solid Western Ford F100 Ranger 2wd Lwb similar to F150 F250
1972 Ford F-100 Ranger 460 C6 Auto NO RESERVE Description
We bought this Ford in Phoenix and took it on 2500 rt 66road trip east to Michigan. The 460 with aedelbrock4 barrel and intakestarted everytime with 1 pump to set the choke and ran great.Shifts firm, on time, and smooth. Brakeswerestrong the whole trip withnearlyzerofade in the mountains. Thereis no smoke, or ticks or tocks, or strange noises from the motor or trans. In thefewmonths before the road tripthese newparts were installed:235/75 tires (mounted on2 different pairs of 15x8.5slot mags),hd front shocks, rearHiJacker air shocks, tune up, belts, hoses, Water pump, coolant, fuel filters, fuel pump, battery, cables, brakes adjusted. Photos are recent, from just before we left and from along the way on the cross country trip. They are all recent and should accurately show the condition.
Somewhere in Kansas after 6 hours of rain the wiper motor started making noise. At the next Walmart along the way we picked up some RainX and let the wipers rest. Somewhere in Missouri the speedometer in the dash started making asqueakingnoise and we disconnected the cable to save sanity. Gas mileage was figured out to be about 10mpg in the mountains and 12mpg highwayon flat land.We keep the speeds about 60--65. At 75 there is a wander/pull depending on the road.
The previous owner had theentire truck restored and rebuilt in 1997.This rebuild included thepaint, rebuilt engine and driveline, and interior and chassis. Since then, in the last 20 years, there has been just over 100k miles put on it and it has seen the wear and tear of a any truck after 20 years of regular use. There are a few scratches and dings. See the photos. It still looks great.ThereISrust on thefloorboard as seen in the photo under the floor mat. The body and underside is extremelyclean and rust free otherwise.
The radio usuallydidn't work. The lights all work and turn signals work. The gas gauge works. The temp and alt gauge work. It has the spare under the bed in the back, the jack under the hood. The factory original Ford trailering mirrors are pretty cool.
Please this is not a perfect show condition truck. The next owner can definitelylook for and findwearand say they willhave to repaint it and replace this or thatif they want a perfect truck. However the next owner can also buy the truck and just start using it "as is". Some parts are showing wear after 100k milesbut there is at least another 100k miles left before any majoroverhaul workwill be needed.
That is all I know about this old ford.
It is a No Reserve Auction. The auction will not be ended early. There is no buy it now price. The highest bid when the auction ends will be the next owner, hopefully. The title issigned and notarized ready to go.
