1968 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible
1968 Ford Mustang Description
Well, the car is back on for sale. This car was sold weeks back, but the buyer failed to come up with the funds. If bidding, please make sure you have the money!
For sale is my 1968 Shelby GT500 convertible. This car is NOT re-bodied. All original and in the Shelby registry. Feel free to look her up! Shelby 00255. Check out the attached Marti report that give the whole story!
This car has no rust issues. It spent the majority of it's life in California and now Arizona. I looked for about 2 years before buying this car, and believe me when I tell you its a good one. I am only selling as I never drive it. Though it is NOT in need of a cosmetic restoration, my original plans were to restore it to concurs specs. Well, there are just not enough hours in the day, and too many vehicles in my garage. My plans have changed and I will probably regret it, but she's for sale.
Back in the 80s, the driver side rear quarter panel received a minor hit from another vehicle. The dent was pulled, and the metal was "leaded" in (ahhh - the good old days). You cannot even tell this car ever had this body damage. Everything is original. Floors, all fenders, hood, etc. Everything works! No issues with any of the gauges, convertible top, etc.
The car received a "Shelby red" paint job back in the early 90s. The paint still shows very nicely. The car drives great as it should! The block was replaced many moons back with a correct replacement block from the dealership. Supposedly the block cracked back in the day. The carburetor was also replaced, but I was told it is correct for the vehicle. Other than this, the car is original.
Carroll Shelby himself signed the dash as the previous owner was personal friends with him.
This car is an extremely nice car that I would not hesitate driving daily. It has been sitting for a while as I never get the chance to use it, so it does have some leaks that need to be fixed simply by replacing the gasket. I'd replace the pan gaskets on both the block and transmission, and maybe even the valve cover gasket and it will be just fine.
I've done my best to disclose everything I can about the vehicle. This car has a NEW reduced price with no reserve. By all means give me a call if you would like to discuss anything about the vehicle. My name is Jeremy and I can be reached on my cell phone. 520-789-0875. Please call or text.
I require a $500 deposit immediately upon purchase of the vehicle. Bank wire required within 2 business days. I will be glad to assist in international shipping the best I can, but ultimately, the buyer needs to make all the arrangements. Please let me know what I can do to help.
