2000 Honda Insight w/Air Cond Description

Second owner needs to sell. For your consideration is a 2000 Honda Insight. This is a 5 speed manual, with air conditioning and has optional cruise control installed. Car also has an optional CD Stereo and upgraded speakers installed. The car has always run great and has been very reliable for us. We have always taken care of any minor maintenance issues which pop up. Car was a 100+ mile daily driver for a number of years, but changes in jobs and family mean it needs to go to another good home. It will still easily turn high 60’s to low 70’s MPG if you mind your acceleration and optimize the hybrid drive system. I have experimented with ‘hypermiling’ and was able to get up to 98 MPG over a week of driving... very close to 1,000 miles on a tank of gas, but that is obviously at the extreme (and relatively slow) end of the range. Maintenance items: Battery replaced under Honda warranty at ~ 96K Hatch struts replaced Clutch / pressure plate / throw-out bearing replacement at ~160K, plus ‘second gear grind’ fix, now shifts completely smooth through all gears New 12V battery 7-2013 Recent windshield wipers Relatively new tires (see pics) The one item I know not working – the rear hatch does not release with the hidden latch, you must use the key. Other than that, the car runs great, drives great, all accessories working, cold AC cruise control. Engine has had routine oil changes, always with factory recommended Mobil 1 0W20 oil and Purolator Pur1 oil filters.
