2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Sport Utility 4-Door Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honetsly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.

Up fora NO RESERVE auction today is a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 with the desirable 4.7L V8 engine. This description will follow my usual format but be sure to read it the whole way through to the end as this Jeep has a few odd issues that you need to be aware of. I would rate the exterior of this Grand Cherokee to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking Jep. It is finished in a brown metallic over dark tan leather interior, which is a good color combination. The brown finish has a mile deep whine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age mileage. You'd be hard pressed to find anything worth complaining about on the exterior, though. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. All of the trim and cladding is present and show well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with average tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this Jeep looks.

I would rate the interior of this Grand Cherokee to also be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The carpets show well throughout the interior. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all open and close easily. In fact, my only complaint about the interior of this Jeep is that the resistor clip to the heater fan is getting glitchy and will soon need replaced. This is not an expensive or complicated thing to replace. The audio system is original and sounds great. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. The heater works properly and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. The cargo area is spacious and clean, too.

Mechanically, this Jeep appears to be in good overall running and driving condition but does have one annoying problem. The 4.7L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older SUV. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. You can feel a little wear in the front bushings, but nothing bad. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. The check engine light is on. It's a strange code I'm not familiar with (P0840, I believe). It has something to do with a fluid pressure switch. What I've encountered with this truck is that it will sometimes go into "limp home mode", which is basically being stuck in 3rd gear. If you turn off the truck and turn it back on, it usually works fine. I will admit that I haven't done a single thing to look into this. It was traded this way and that is how I'm selling it. It could be as simple as a low fluid level, it could be a bad sensor or an issue with the valve body. Aside from this intermittent issue, the transmission engages smoothly and shifts fine with no slipping, hunting or anything to suggest a serious internal issue. It seems to just be that sensor fault. The only other bad thing is that the front diff whines, which is also normal for an older Jeep. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. The 4WD system is tested and working properly. If you're handy with stuff like this, or know someone who is, this Jeep is a great deal. I've spent extra time driving this truck so make sure I felt comfortable with it's issues so I could disclose them adequately. I've driven it for four days and that's the only issue I had. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
