1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.

Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a rugged and reliable SUV that offers extraordinary value as a used vehicle. I would rate the exterior of this Grand Cherokee to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, this is a great looking Jeep. It is finished in bright red over black leather interior. The red finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please expect to find a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific Grand Cherokee, there is some visible damage on the nose of the hood and a dent on the left fender behind the light. All of the body cladding is present and shows well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a matching set of rubber with average tread all around, although the fronts are worn down more than the rears...which is normal with an older Jeep. Pride in ownership shows throughout this Grand Cherokee.

I would also rate the interior of this Jeep to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior. The dash and headliner are also clean. This Grand Cherokee Laredo has the optional leather interior, which is in remarkable condition. Both front seats are power operated. This is also an option that is rarely found on the Laredo trim. The power windows, locks, seats and mirrors all work properly. The stereo is the factory original Infinity Sound with CD, which was also optional. The climate control system appears to be working properly. The heater works well. It's a little cool outside to be able to tell you whether or not the air conditioner works properly. The cargo area is spacious and clean. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this Grand Cherokee.

Mechanically, this Jeep appears to be in good running and driving condition. In addition to being exceptionally clean and unusually well optioned, this Grand Cherokee Laredo has the desirable 4.0L inline six cylinder engine and the Select Trac Part Time 4WD system. The big six starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine doesn't smoke. Her road manners are good for an older Jeep. You can feel a little play in the front end, which is common at this age. The suspension feels confident. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure at all times. Aside from an ABS light, there have been no idiot lights on during my road test. The engine makes good power and feels smooth. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with no issues...aside from the aforementioned slight wonder in the front end. The 4WD system is tested and working properly. If you're looking for an exceptionally clean, unusually well optioned Jeep that is equipped with the most desirable engine / transfer case that hasn't been all used up, you know it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
