NO RESERVE . 4x4 . 4.0L STRAIGHT SIX . CLEAN
1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Description
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 70 photos and read this entire description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 with the desirable 4.0L inline six cylinder engine and Select-Trac Part Time 4WD transfer case. I would rate the exterior of this Jeep to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking Jeep. She is finished in CharGold over Gray cloth interior with matching gray Laredo body cladding. The finish shines nicely and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find anything worth complaining about as you walk around the exterior of this Jeep. All of the trim and cladding are present and show well. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well for their age and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with average tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would rate the interior of this Grand Cherokee to also be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight, showing only minimal wear. The dash and headliner are clean. The carpets are clean and show well throughout the interior. The gray cloth seats are clean, comfortable and show no excessive wear. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work properly. The audio system has been upgraded with an aftermarket CD player. The climate control system appears to be working properly. The heater works well but the air conditioner will need charged or serviced as it does not blow cold air. The cargo area is spacious and clean. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. Mechanically, this Jeep appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.0L inline six cylinder engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I haven't noticed any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an old Jeep. You can feel a little play in the front end, as is normal at this age, but nothing bad. My road test of this Jeep was 85 miles basically all highway and she drove great. The engine keeps perfect temperature and good oil pressure. She cruises easily. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. Full disclosure...as I was getting off the highway and coming to a stop at the light, the transmission downshifted rather abruptly and the check engine light came on. When my light turned green, the truck started off in 2nd gear and shifted normally through 3rd and 4th. That is why the check engine light is on in the pictures. I shut the truck off after I was done taking the photos to bring the SD card into my office to upload them. When I went back out to start it up and retrieve the code, the engine light was off and hasn't come back and the transmission has been fine ever since. I always go out of my way to disclose EVERYTHING that I know. Even if I don't think it will be an issue, I don't want my buyer to get blind sided. Even though it only did it to me that once, I want to make sure you know. I'd drive this Jeep anywhere without a second thought. These older Jeeps are getting hard to find...especially ones that haven't been all used up and neglected. If you've been looking for an older Grand Cherokee with the straight six and without Quadra-Trac full time 4WD, this Grand Cherokee deserves your consideration. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
