Here we have a rare opportunity to own one of the few VW TDI conversions in a TJ Rubicon. Base Jeep is a 2004 Wrangler Rubicon with the 5 speed manual transmission. Donor motor came out of a 2004 VW Jetta TDI. Both the Jeep & the donor motor had 66K miles when it was all put together. The build is well documented through "Jeepforum" by the user "1979wagoneerltd" I can't link the page as it is not allowed on Ebay, but a simple search will bring it up.
Lots of time, money & patience went into this Jeep. This is one of the first from COTY built (HPA) to hit the road. Note: HPA merely supplied the adapter parts, every other part of the build was painstakingly engineered by another builder. This is far far better than any of the common 4BT swap's out there. Currently has 6,000 miles on the build and has reliably averaged between 25-30 MPG.
New alternator, timing belt & VNT 17 turbo at the time of installation. Yellow top gel battery. New brakes including front calipers. New high flow exhaust. 9,500lb waterproof winch with 18,000lb synthetic line. Body Armor steel bumpers front & rear with swing out tire carrier & jerry can mounts. Hard top has been Linex'd. CB radio installed with dual antennas. Rear tough box mounted behind the seat. Snorkel kit. 285/75-16 tires with less than 1,000 miles on them, mounted to powder coated Rubicon wheels. 1.25" wheel spacers & a 2" spring spacer lift.
Overall in excellent shape. It is a Jeep, and it has been used, so it's not something that sits in a showroom to get polished. There will be marks here and there from use, rock chips etc to be expected of what this vehicle is. Interior is in good shape. The gauges are mixed around a bit as the cluster conversion harness was not used. RPM is mounted on the dash, and oil pressure, water temperature are on the A pillar. The harness to make it look stock is available from COTY Built if required. There is a lot more to this Jeep than can be written here.
