1999 Mercedes slk 230 - the slam dunk to the Miata
1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class Description
This is the Mercedes version of the Miata small sports car -- a 1999 SLK 230 with a super charged engine and an automatic transmission - very peppy and great gas mileage. Car has been well been well maintained at MBS motors with a recent engine gasket replacement, belts, and new Michellin tires. Radio and CD player have a funky volume control. AC works great. Should be good for another 100,000 miles if maintained.
This car is in great driving condition and has been perfectly reliable except for:
1) flesh wound by a parking lot scrape on driver's side.
2) The mechanical top stopped working in the down position and I manually locked it in the up position. I found a small amount of fluid in the trunk so I think a hydraulic fitting may have leaked - I have heard that repairs could cost $$$$ so i decided to sell the car to someone who wants to repair it, or manually operate it, or just not put the top down.
3) Various dents and scratches - needs a dent repair shop
4) cloudy headlights that need to be buffed to a clear finish by a detail shop.
5) cup holder does not work
6) driver's seat has some stitching broken
7) volume control on radio is intermittent
Sevice records are available and I would be glad to have it inspected by a MB dealer or MBS motors in Duluth for a pre-purchase analysis.
