1971 Porsche 911 T Description

This Porsche 911T is a 73,000 mile car that is substantially unrestored aside from a repaint and a painstaking engine rebuild. The engine was rebuilt by Aase Motors in Fullerton California. The car belongs to an Aerospace engineer that is the 2nd owner of the car. He bought the car used in 1977 and has maintained it perfectly in a hangar at the Torrance Airport or his garage in Palos Verdes Estates. A close inspection by knowledgeable Early 911 short hood experts confirms that this is an exceedingly correct, honest, and attractive example.
This car has never had accident, ding, dent, spot of bubbling, rust or weather damage in it's lifetime!!!
The body is straight and solid with very good gaps and panel fit. The body is extremely solid and free of corrosion, and the car has been in California all it's life. The car was painted 15 years ago and garaged all it's life. The chrome and bright trim are very nice throughout. The wheels appear never to have been refinished and are in very good unrestored condition, with a correct matte finish rather than the polished finish present on most restored Fuchs.
The theme of correctness continues in the interior, which is in excellent shape. The upholstery, carpets, and headliner are excellent. The correct velour carpets are equally nice, and areas such as the seat rails distinguish this car as an exceptionally clean example. The original Coco mats are all present and only the passenger one is slightly frayed in a spot. The steering wheel and instruments are extremely clean and the dashboard is free of warping and discoloration. However, there is one closed crack on the dash pad. The overall impression of the interior is extremely strong.
The engine compartment and trunk are extremely clean and unrestored. There has never been any rust on this car or opportunity to get rust as the owner never took it out in the 5 days a year it rains.
The car is an absolute riot to drive, with performance that rivals, and dare we suggest, exceeds that of an RS. The specification of the motor is unclear but the car absolutely flies. At the same time, it is tremendously tractable, wonderfully tuned, responsive and generally magical, with a glorious rush of power at nearly any RPM, which makes the car genuinely quick in just about any situation. Driven back to back against a 911T with RS spec motor, this car is faster and has better power delivery as well. The chassis and suspension are tight, although on the stiff side, particularly the damping, which causes a bit of pogo action at low speeds over some bumps. The brakes work exactly as they should, with the right amount of travel before they bite, and a user-friendly easy to modulate character. The transmission has excellent synchromesh and the clutch grabs positively with good grab low in the travel.
This car will appeal to the seasoned and knowledgeable 911 connoisseur. An exceptionally unmolested and correct car. This is an example that will attract an admiring crowd at Porsche events because so many of the details that are lost as cars deteriorate or are restored are still intact. And once all that is over, the owner will enjoy one the best-driving early 911s around Although the mileage is not documented, it is certainly believable from looking at the car, and it has clearly been owned by enthusiasts who believed in conserving this exceptionally correct car.
