1983 Toyota Land Cruiser Description

After years of non-operation this off-roading, camping, and towing veteran is ready to hit the road again.

This 1983 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 is in great condition, both inside and out. Extensive work has been done to bring the original engine back to life after many years of non-operation. The carburetor has been completely rebuilt, any cracked or dried-out hoses or belts have been replaced, and the fuel pump and fuel lines have been replaced and cleared. In addition to this, a brand-new, factory-original Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 fuel tank has been installed (receipt available upon request; very few new FJ60 tanks are still available from Toyota).

There are also a few special modifications present on this FJ60. A cruise control unit was installed by the original owners in the early 1980's (cannot confirm whether this was Toyota-certified or self-modification); this has not been tested. Additionally, an alarm system and power doors were installed by the previous owner. The most recent modification is a battery shut-off switch, which allows the owner to shut off all battery usage when not in use.

Many features are still in great condition, though it's not completely without signs of use. Below is a more detailed breakdown of the condition of each portion of the vehicle:

EXTERIOR

• Very minimal dings/scratches
• Light rusting on the hood
• Small dent in front bumper on passenger side
• Rusting along the edge of the roof (previous owner attempted to stem further rusting with sealant)

INTERIOR (Non-Upholstery)

• Dashboard in great condition; no cracking or splitting from sun/heat
• Gearshift knobs replaced with brand-new genuine Land Cruiser knobs (matched to original 1983 parts)
• Dome light cover replaced (previous one had a hole burned through it)
• Radio/DVD player present but currently non-operational
• Ashtray and cigarette lighter missing

INTERIOR (Upholstery)

• Driver's side seat in poor condition; exposed foam
• Driver's side door upholstery shows some wear from window-crank use
• Passenger side seat in great condition
• Back seats in excellent condition; nearly like new
• Cargo area reupholstered by previous owner
• Carpets in good condition
• Slight rust stains on ceiling liner
• Small tear in ceiling liner at the back of the cargo area

ENGINE, Etc.

• Original engine
• Completely rebuilt carburetor
• Cracked or dried out belts and hoses replaced
• Cruise control present but untested
