This rig is the result of a year-long, professional conversion and upgrade by a Toyota Mechanic and Mechanical Engineer. It’s the ultimate go-anywhere rig designed to survive anything. The truck cruises comfortably down the highway at 80mph and handles anything from rock crawling to 24” of snow with ease. I purchased this truck in 2007 with only 117,000 documented miles and have only driven it 20,000 miles since! (mileage documented by AutoCheck and State Inspection receipts)The conversion was completed in early 2012 and has been on the road for almost 10000 miles.
Mechanical:
the venerable Detroit 6.5 liter Turbo Diesel Engine. Power is delivered through a custom built 700R4 transmission by Extreme 4wd, mated to the factory Toyota transfer case by Marks Adapters out to Toyota factory locking differentials. The truck delivers excellent power and torque, and is unbeatable on and off road. The TDI engine features fully mechanical injection (no computer or electronics), a mechanical waste gate controller and 3” exhaust. Cooling is handled by a high flow Factory GM water pump, dual thermostat crossover, Duramax fan and high flow Griffin aluminum radiator. 6.5 Turbo Diesel engine was donated from a documented low mile 1995 Chevrolet 1500. (Mileage documented by CarFax and AutoCheck, message for copy) EGR and all electronics (except block heater) were removed in the conversion, rebuilt high flow mechanical fuel pump, rebuilt injectors, and new glow plugs installed. GM HydroBoost brake booster.
Tires and Suspension:
Old Man Emu 3" lift (850J, 863J springs), (N73L, N74L shocks), front spring spacer to keep it level. OME caster correction bushings and Man-A-Fre 3” caster correction brackets keep the alignment in spec. Tires are 315/75R-16 Toyo Open Country M/T mounted on factory Land Cruiser aluminum wheels.
Exterior:
“Bumpit Offroad front tube bumper provides protection and mounting for a Warn M8000 winch that is loaded with synthetic rope. Custom tubular rock sliders are tight to the body lines to maintain ground clearance and welded to the frame for strength. Side panel protection runs from the sliders to the rear bumper – all tubing is DOM. The custom rear bumper has been recessed tight against the body to help with departure angles and features a single swing out tire carrier. Sliders, side protection and rear bumper by M&M Offroad. Protection for the transmission and transfer case is provided by a heavy duty skid plate by Ironpig Offroad. The body still wears factory Toyota green paint and is in very good shape- holding a shine nicely.
Interior:
The well-appointed factory interior features gray cloth seats still in excellent condition, I did upgrade the stereo to a Scion head unit in order to provide the iPod connection. All factory gauges are wired and functioning and the AC blows ice cold. The sunroof, all of the locks and windows work properly.
Accessories:
The truck still has the factory jack and tool kit. I am also including a fire extinguisher, and a new set of 4 snow chains. There is also a compressed air tank mounted in the right rear panel should you decide to install on board air
Buyer is responsible for shipping, but I will happily assist in meeting/coordinating the transport company on my end.
