Karmann Ghia 1971 Convertible
1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Ghia Description
I bought this Ghia in 2000 for my son. It was owned by a college student that started to restore it and had to stop and sell it. The motor was rebuilt by him but the car was under a tarp for a while at that time and after a little work I was able to get it running. I rebuilt the brakes and welded new floor pans and lower door thresholds that were rusted. the interior was stripped. About this time my son went off to school and the car project stopped. I have not ran this car in 12 years. Its been in the garage, in Oklahoma since then. Now I live in Florida and the car is still in Oklahoma so its time to sell.
The condition of the car as I recall is all body work is done and was painted red as the pictures show. The car ran and stopped when it was put in the garage but that status is unknown now. The lights, chrome trim is with the car but will need care. The bumpers need replaced. The car needs a whole new interior and convertible top including dashboard pads, dashboard wood grain trim, door panels, flooring, seat covers, bows for the top. new visors. The doors latch hardware needs work, I believe the door handles are with the car. All the window glass is intact, including the rare full rear glass window (seen in pictures). This car is solid, has a clear title and will make a great car. Car is offered as is where is.
