1987 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia Description
I am selling my precious because she has been driven very little lately. I will miss being able to sit over-the-front-wheels, flashing peace signs to fellow VW enthusiasts. These vehicles are unique in many ways, including giving you the closest experience to driving a bus that I can think of but all packaged in a small, self contained van that is so much easier to drive and park than any other RV.
I have just had this 1987 VW Camper evaluated by two VW specialists and had every necessary repair done, including preemptive repairs to get it ready for its next adventure. The latest repairs totaled over $2000, which included v-belts, drive belt, clutch master and slave cylinders, new auxiliary battery install, new radiator fan and more. The only thing that doesn’t work on this vehicle now is the electric passenger side-view mirror (not bad for an ’87).
Having owned the vehicle for over 15 years, I have most of the service and accessory records that demonstrate thousands of dollars have been invested in this vehicle (see image of spreadsheet in the photos) making it among one of the cleanest, and most well-cared-for examples of the highly desirable 2.1L water cooled 86-91 models. The speedometer/odometer has had intermittent issues so I cannot attest to the actual mileage of the vehicle but the odometer has been recently rebuilt, and a new speedometer cable has also been installed as well to make it fully functional. This vehicle has a clear title, and Carfax.

Naturally, with a close to 30 year old vehicle not everything is perfect. There are the usual blemishes one can expect. But there is no significant surface rust or body issues as the photos demonstrate. No warranty is implied or expressed. This vehicle is being sold as-is. Vehicle is also being sold locally so seller reserves the right to cancel auction.
I have taken extensive photographs that also show some of the imperfections. You can download the additional photos/videos here:
