NO RESERVE...LOW MILES...5 Speed Manual...2.0L
1998 Volkswagen Beetle-New -- Description
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1998 Volkswagen Beetle with the desirable 2.0L engine and five speed manual transmission. I would rate the exterior of this Beetle to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking car. It is finished in white over gray cloth interior and shows well for it's age. The white finish has a nice shine and looks smooth all around. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this Beetle, the worst I can say about the exterior are a few normal scrapes and rub marks on the bumpers from age...nothing bad. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and hatch all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The wheel covers look good for their age, too. The rear tires are fine but the fronts are on the thin side and will probably need replaced before next inspection, if your state requires inspections. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would also rate the interior of this Beetle to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets show well for their age throughout the interior. The headliner sags, as most older Beetle headliners do, but it is clean. You can push it up and it sticks for a little but will eventually come down again. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work properly. The seats show a little wear but are comfortable. The audio system has been upgraded with a Kenwood CD player, which appears to be working properly and sounds good. The climate control system appears to be working properly. It is a little too cold to verify that the air conditioner is working, but I can tell you that the heater works perfectly. The trunk is spacious and clean, too. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. Mechanically, this Beetle appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 2.0L engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older vehicle. You can feel a little wear in the front bushings over harsh surfaces but the suspension feels fine, otherwise. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps proper temperature and feels strong. The 2.0L crossflow engine is known for reliability and simplicity. The airbag light stays on. Otherwise, there have been no idiot lights on during my road test. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the manual transmission are smooth. I believe the shifter linkage bushing may soon need replaced, as it seems to be off a hair. Despite this, the car can be easily driven anywhere. She is a fresh NEW CAR TRADE and has a current PA safety and emissions inspection good through the end of June, 2017. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
