1990 Honda CRX, super nice,89,000 original miles,a must see,1988,1989,1991,dx,si
1990 Honda CRX dx Description
I've decided to list my 1990 Honda CRX for sale as i don't have the time to drive this car as often as i'd like. I've only owned the car for about 9 months and thought i would have the time for it but with having young children it justdoesn't get used often enough to justify keeping it. I searched for a super nice one, free of rust for some time when i stumbled upon this beauty. The prior owner who i bought the car from put quite a bit of work into the car such as painting the car the original color due tosun fade only, car has no rustanywhere and spent most of itslife in North Carolina. He also had the seats recovered, replaced the 1.5 liter head with a si 1.6 head plus the si engine wiring harness, added a header and intake. At this time the timing belt, water pump were replaced along with the radiator & hoses. The struts, brakes, tires were replaced as well. This was all done around 83,000 miles a few years back.
Since getting the car i've done some additional repairs and services such as replacing the muffler with a stock style one, replaced drivers front axle assembly, oil pan assembly,a/c compressor, starter and replaced all fluids such as coolant, clutch fluid, brake fluid, engine oil, replaced pass front axle seal due to a small trans fluid leak.
The car gets many compliments while out on the road and is super fun to drive. It's in overall excellent condition with a few flaws that have happened since being redone, the main one that i've thought about having fixed is there is some cracking in the paint contained to a section on the center of the roof thats only visible at certain angles. I think the paint may have been applied to thick in that area but i'm not sure. Other then that the exterior only has a few rock chips and a small chip on the edge of the drivers door that has been touched up,I've included a pic showing it as well. The interior still looks nearly perfect with no cracks in the dash or hvac controls and the seats and carpet are very nice. There are a fewsmall tears in the door panel on the drivers side from the seat belt thats pictured, other then that there is some wear on the pass side seat belt buckle that is pictured.Mechanically everything is still very nice with no issues other then a slight rattle at times from the exhaust that mainly occurs while at idle when its not warmed up yet, which i believe to be a heat shield. The center caps missing from the wheels in the pics have been re installed. I should also mention that there is a bulb or 2 burned out in the instrument cluster, you can still see how fast your going at night its just not as bright as it should be. I removed the aftermarket radio and installed the Honda cd player from a 2002 Accord in its place, i'll also include a Honda am/fm cassette as well.
The car has a 5 speed manual transmission with a excellent clutch, working a/c with the r134a conversion and a new a/c compressor, plenty of life left on the brakes, tires have 85-90% tread left. Let me know if you have any questions.
I've only driven the car on nice sunny days and the prior owner i purchased the car from stored the car over the winter months. With the original owner living in the south it would be safe to assume the car has seen very little if any winter driving & road salt which with how clean it is underneath supports my opinion.
I forgot to mention that the car has aftermarket cruise control that does work.
