Driving & Performance:

This timeless beauty not only looks the part, she plays it exceptionally well! She fires right up and whirs with Swiss-watch precision. The motor is quiet, smooth, tic/knock/overheating free with tons of available power. That said, every hour put on the motor the valve job continues to bed-in and open up – more and more powerful as time goes on. Power is added here with the Magneflow exhaust system. Quiet while cruising, she is the perfect balance of V8 harmony and throaty burble when you punch the accelerator. You wouldn’t think shes a 200K mi vehicle at all as she drives with more esprit than fellows with ½ the mileage. This is partly due to the rebuild on the transmission and tcase. The transmission shift quality is positively F1 like with no slippage, shudder, or hesitation at all. The Borg Warner transfer case does not bind or grind at all.

I have been commuting with her daily and she is relentlessly reliable in all conditions. Of course due to the top-end overhaul including a personal touch – the 160 degree, triple bridge, single bypass thermostat. It’s the same one I race with and really takes care of the motor under the most demanding conditions.

The Bilstein/Arnott spring conversion is the most EAS like feeling ride that is available. I was surprised by the plush comfort and aggressive no-roll handling. Steering is crisp and tight with ZERO wandering, shimmies or shakes. You can throw her pretty hard into a long looping freeway interchange and she just sticks – begging you to punch it for the apex.

The brakes have been overhauled too. With EBC brand slotted and drilled rotors in all corners, the enemy of all brakes (heat) is sent away leaving you with maximum stopping power. The organic sport pads are zero noise, minimal dust, super biting pads. This set up has about a month on it and again, with every hour put on them, increases in power. If you need to, you can stand this truck on its head!

I have also upgraded the alternator to 150A. This is in anticipation of you’re potential power needs. Whatever you want to put in it – upgraded entertainment, food storage, lighting – your power needs are COVERED.

I LOVE the original Michelin XM+S tyres. They are the best looking and best performing for the Range Rover Classic. They are ghost-like quiet under all rolling conditions and coming from Southern California parts trucks – they have all been spared weather extremes and are in like new condition.

As I have said, this “cultured” Rover drives with more sense of purpose than her peer group and I’m confident that within the first 5 minutes you’ll agree. That’s what a loved quality product over time is all about!

Aesthetics & Operation:

Take a good look at the provided magazine advert from 1995. This Black on Lightstone colour combination was considered the flagship package back then. It is timeless, stately, and luxurious. No doubt she owes the preservation of her interior to the factory privacy glass. Despite the tint, the cabin is still bright and the original woodwork and paneling retain their original warmth. Fresh from her detail appointment and into her photo shoot this past Friday afternoon, she is every ready to be presentable without compare!

The Beluga Black refinish is ultra smooth and undeniably reflective. Running your fingers over her glossy surface the vehicle actually feels soft. I have shared as many pictures as possible in varied light to illustrate how 1) Factory Perfect the color is and 2) How nuanced and rich the tones are depending on ambient lighting. Pay close attention to the floating clouds in some of her glamour shots… she is positively mirror finished and polished to perfection. No, you can’t make 20+ year old stamped aluminum brand new. But every effort to reverse the signs of fine lines and wrinkles has been made and it shows! The motivation to repaint her had more to do with typical oxidation of the color on the roof than anything else, really. She has NEVER been in any accidents of any kind.

All original finishing and materials are in good to excellent condition. The soft-dash is clean and knick free. The carpeting is still soft and clean. All door cards are tidy and sturdy. The wood work is clean and still rather dark but the center console tray exhibits typical tiger striping in the veneer. Please see featured photos.

Pay close attention to the detailed photos of common stress areas – they are factory fresh and rust free. All bulkhead, floorpan, rear tray, arches and jambs… all clean and tight.

The OEM Harmon Kardon Audio is crystal clear and powerful and the digital display on the head-unit is clear and displays numbers correctly.

The headliner is brand-new and from top to bottom, she feels (and even smells) like a new car. To that point, she has never been a smokers car and there are no lingering odors in the cabin or ventilation system.

The AC is serviced just in time for the demands of summer and works BRILLIANTLY. Your exposed skin is freezing in minutes and thankfully, the heating works just as well to take the bite away!

Lights, horns, blinkers, windows, handles, latches, etc all work too, cruise does not.

She also retains her original, jack and tools, full sized spare, owners manual, and Magazine Ad from 1995!

Perhaps finally, the jewel of the 95 function is seat memory. And yes, it works perfect too. A little trick I have – I set position 2 to my driving taste. Position 1 is fully lowered, fully back – to create space for effortless vehicle exit and entry.

Purchasing, Perspective & Why Buy From Me:

Please read my outstanding feedback from folks like you! No one sends off a Land Rover or Range Rover better than me, PERIOD. It’s the vehicle I drive, and the vehicle I RACE. Nearly two decades of Rover ownership and service are poured into every Rover that I see into new hands.

The commitment to service here is a commitment to my own passion and to a shared bond between enthusiasts. You wont find that anyplace else. Beware of any vintage Rover that does not share the same service points as the ones I advertise with my collection. They are ESSENTIAL for long term reliability and any Rover without these services are ticking time bombs. I am not a Land Rover tech that drives home in a Honda Civic. I come from a long line of British Car technicians and Live, Breathe and even RACE the green oval. I understand ALL of your concerns and needs and do my best to ensure that you will be happy based on a simple, yet powerful concept: DOES THIS VEHICLE MAKE ME HAPPY? WOULD I PUT MY WIFE AND BABY IN IT? WOULD I LOVE TO HAVE IT? The answer is always yes. And that’s when I know they are ready. I care. I know you do, too.

To that point - watch out for copy cats. It has come to my attention that people claim they work with/partner with me. This is not truck. If you aren’t buying one from me… its, well, NOT from me!!!

THE IDEA OF "NEW TO ME VS. A NEW CAR"

I am VERY proud of each and every Rover that I hand select and hand-craft. As amazing as all of them are, i wouldnt ever say any of them are "perfect." None of them are and I have only used the term museum piece ONCE. And i am well aware of the qualifiers for that monicker.

With each and every listing, i try to capture the flavor of what strikes me about each vehicle. I try to capture their essence. I try to make the description feel like a conversation between you and I, or even a phone call. Covering the general and intimate details that stand out to me. That said, we all know that while they are all Rovers, all made in the same place, each one is different.

It is not possible to discuss every nut and bolt, but I have done my best to list and discuss what would matter to ME. Let me know what matters TO YOU. While she may soon be “new to you” she is “not new” and you should be prepared for all that is involved with owning a used vehicle. She is sold as-is without warranty or exception and there are no refunds. That said, there is not ANYTHING that concerns me about her overall reliability, cosmetics and functionality. If there were gross issues, I would be talking about that – in fact – I would have fixed them! I invite you to ask ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS NOW!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE – ASK AWAY!

There are no queries too obscure; your satisfaction is the goal here. Additionally, eBay offers a 3rd party inspection service to verify ALL of your acquisition needs IN PERSON. Purchase of the vehicle = SATISFACTION. Once this auction is over, the winning bid and purchase imply that satisfaction has been achieved and will be understood as such.

This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION so you are bidding to win! Please make sure that you bid ONLY what you are prepared to pay. This means, when the auction is over, and the winning bid is placed, this becomes THE SALE PRICE of the vehicle. Under no circumstances does it open the door to negotiate or back out of your commitment. The people bidding for this vehicle actually want it. Do not spoil their chances at ownership by arm-chair bidding. Yes, everyone joins eBay at some point, and there is no prejudice against lower transaction numbers here – HOWEVER – if I suspect and/or become aware of any insincerity on the part of said bidder, I reserve the right to cancel all bids from and block that insincere bidder from this auction.

Completion of this transaction is fairly straight forward. Once the auction is over, I will be contacting the winner immediately and we can discuss the easiest way to finalize the transition.

Who is this truck for?

Fantastic question! This gal has covered ground and will continue to do so with her proud new owner. I think perhaps, she may speak loudest to the first time lover of Range Rover Classics. She will give you everything that you are hoping to find in addition to being way ahead of the pack in her restoration campaign. She will absolutely continue to serve proudly as a daily driver, vacation vehicle, guest vehicle and dare I say it… a wonderful build platform for a tasteful off-road event truck. Whatever your goals, she will satisfy them and beyond. Best of luck and as always, Happy Rovering!!!
