2008 Saab 9-5 Aero Sedan 4-Door Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.

I am happy tooffer this 2008 Saab 9-5 Aero for a NO RESERVE auction. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I love Saab's. I love everything about them from their unlikely beginning through their success in the 80's and 90's and even how they went out by defying GM's demands tobe absorbedinto the General Motors' brand...you have to admire them. The 9-5 is the flagship of the Saab brand and the Aero is the high performance version of the already capable sedan. My favorite thing about these cars is how understated they are. If you put the bright red paint aside, this is a very subtle automobile. Most walking past it would never know that this Saab is a rocket on wheels. I would rate the exterior of this 9-5 Aero to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is an absolutely gorgeous sedan. It is finished in bright red with professionally tinted windows, which really does it for me. The red finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please expect to find a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find anything on the exterior of this Saab worth complaining about. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the trim and cladding are present and show well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The alloy wheels are specific to the Aero package and show very well. They are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with good tread all around. Pride in ownership shows throughout this top of the line 9-5 Aero. all of the parking assist sensors are intact and working properly. Please take your time and check out each of the photos to see how clean this Saab looks.

I would also rate the interior of this Saab to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The two tone interior contrasts brilliantly against the bright red exterior. I smile every time I open the door to this car...it looks that good. The deeply bolstered two tone leather sport seats are also specific to the Aero trim and show well for their age. There is minimal wear on the drivers seat cushion, which is normal for these seats. My personal car is an '07 9-3 Aero and it has the same interior...I can personally vouch for how good these seats. are They are comfortable and supportive for both short and long trips. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets show well throughout the interior. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The audio system is original and sounds great. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent settings for the driver and passenger. The heater works well and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. The cargo area is spacious and clean. The interior of a Saab is designed around the driver in subtle ways that you don't notice at first. Especially with older Saab's, they take a little getting used to...but once you're used to it, one wonders why all cars aren't like this. Aside from the subtle ergonomics, everything inside these cars is designed for the driver...right down to the "night panel" feature which shuts down all of the interior lights except for the speedometer. This is to reduce driver fatigue on long distance night trips and is born from Saab's history of winning endurance races. The winningest car is no good if it wears out the drivers in the process. This is the genesis of their attention to details in the interior most car makers overlook. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this Saab. Please take your time to check out each of the photos carefully.

Mechanically, this Saab 9-3 Aero appears to be in good running and driving condition. The high output 2.3L turbocharged engine starts up easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older car. You can feel a little wear in the front bushings, which is normal at this age. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. This car handles like it's on rails and is an absolute blast to drive. The final version of the high output turbocharged engine makes a reported 256hp and 270lb-ft of torque, although Saab was notorious for under rating these engines. I can tell you that this Aero is a rocket. There is enough torque steer in 1st and 2nd gear that you really need to have a firm hand on the wheel before you stomp your right foot down. The turbo spools up quickly and lays down seemingly endless power. Power is put to the ground througha five speed manual transmission. Saab's are known for having fairly wide gear ratios, which isn't a problem for an engine that chruns out torque like this. In every gear but 1st, the speedometer seems to move as fast as the tach. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be. The other great thing about how these cars are geared is that the four cylinder engine is barely turning at highway cruising speed, which translates into remarkable fuel economy when you consider the power and performance on tap. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. As I said earlier, I'm absolutely nuts about these cars. When you drive one of these, the amount of thought that went into designing these cars is obvious and you can't help but respect that and feel like you're driving a special automobile. If you've been looking for an exceptional example of one of the last Aero's to still actually be a Saab, this 2008 9-5 Aero deserves your serious consideration. These are rather hard to come across, especially with a manual transmission in this condition. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
