1997 Toyota Land Cruiser - Very Nice w/ Lockers!!
1997 Toyota Land Cruiser Collectors Eddition Description
Selling my 1997 "Collectors Eddition" Land Cruiser. The truck is in beyond excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition for its age. Currently has slightly less and 190,500 miles, which translates to around 9,000 miles per year throughout its journey.
It's story - The vehicle was bought from its original owner in Northern, CA and within the first few years was bought by its second owner who had the vehicle for the majority of its life - still in Northern CA (Sacramento). Up until last year, it was sold toa gentlemanwho was going to use it as a daily driver - but ultimately decided on a different vehicle. Then comes myself who bought and then brought the vehicle to what it is today. I spent the last four months going overboard on referbishing the truck - my plan was to keep it long term, adding it to a fleet of Land Cruisers (I currently own a 2008 and 2014). However, my wife and I would like to put the money elsewhere, other than a 3rd vehicle.
Some of the things I did include; new belts, new radiator, various hoses and other things bringing the truckto mechanically perfect condition - local Toyota dealership can verify too. Various new interior parts where replaced, front and rear bumper along with the hood (old hood had paint rubbed off from the OEM bug/rock guard - I have pictures) was painted by a Mercedes-Benz certified shop - paint match is awesome along with the quality of the paint. All other paint is perfect and original except for the rear tailgate which the second owner backed into a mailbox. Rear glass was replaced and top and lower tailgate were painted - paint on these panels is perfect and looks excellent. I also had most all black trim pieces powder coated, looking brand new! New weather tech floor mats, new antenna mast, along with hours of time and other miscellaneous things were done to make this truck what it is today.
Never taken off-road, completely rust free both body and undercarriage (California truck - not even a bolt has rust or oxidation) no major accidents, frame is perfect and never touched by a body shop, all electrical works perfectly, very little if any wear on the steering wheel, the original leather looks very good for its age, mechanical seats work great, and the truck drives straight. Motor is strong, Toyo HT Open Country tires have almost new tread, no vibration or pull at highway speeds, and the lockers engage easily with a switch of a button. The truck is a classic and I get plenty of compliments driving it around town. This is a very nice FJZ80 and I know the next owner will really enjoy her.
