1997 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Ryan i sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road text each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is reperesented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.

Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1997 ford Explorer XLT 4X4. The ford Explorer is based off of the rugged and reliable Ford Ranger pick-up and is a very capable SUV. I would rate the exterior of this Explorer to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking truck. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with the age and mileage. On this spacific Explorer, there is some rust on the passengers side rocker panel. The hood, doors and tailgate all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The paint looks good with a green finish that shines nicely and looks smooth as glass. The factory alloy wheels show nicely and are wrapped in a matching set of rubber with good tread all around. Pleace take your time and check out each of the photos carefully.

I would rate the interior of this Explorer to also be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The gray cloth interior looks good againts the dark green exterior. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show well for their age and are full looking throughout the interior. The cloth seats show well and are very comfortable. The dash and headliner are clean. The power windows, locks, seats and mirrors all work properly. The audio system is after market and sounds good. The heater works properly and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. The cargo area is spacious and clean. The only flaws I found with the interior are the drivers seat back rest ajustment handle is broken and the window switches on the drives door are loose. With those exceptions the interior of this truck looks good. Again, please take your time to check out each of the photos.

Mechanically, this Explorer appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.0L V6 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older SUV. The suspension feels tight and sorted but I did hear a creek coming from the front. Maybe just a dry bushing. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engien keeps perfect temperature and excllent oil presser. There have been no idiot lights on during my road test. The engine feels smooth and makes plenty of power. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. Out on the highway, it drives nice and straight. The 4WD system is tested and working properly. I would drive this Explorer anywhere and with only over 100K on it she still has a lot of life left. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
