2004 Ford Escape XLT Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the nearly 80 photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2004 Ford Escape XLT 4x4. I would rate the exterior of this Escape to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking little truck. She is finished in Red Fire Metallic over Tan interior. The fed finish shines nicely and looks as smooth as glass all around. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find anything worth complaining about as you walk around the exterior of this Escape. All of the trim and cladding are present and show well. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber. Tire tread is on the thin side of average but you should be able to get another year out of them, depending on how you drive and how many miles you rack up in a year. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this Escape came in. How you see it in the photos is exactly how she came in...I didn't even wash it. I would rate the interior of this Escape to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets show a few marks from age but are not excessively worn and show well overall. The dash and headliner are clean. The seats are clean and comfortable throughout the interior. The power windows, locks, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The audio system is original and sounds good through the factory speakers. I believe something is wrong with the CD changer, though. It makes weird noises. The climate control system appears to be working properly. The heater works well and the air conditioner blows cold air. The cargo area is spacious and clean. Pride in ownership shows throughout this Ford Escape. Mechanically, this Escape appears to be in good running and driving condition. The optional 3.0L V6 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. As you can see in the photos, the check engine light was on when this Escape came in. I pulled the code and the error code was "misfire detected within 1,000 rpms of start up". When this truck came in, it was out of gas...like really out. In my experience with it, the engine has always ran perfectly smooth with zero issues. I cleared the code out, guessing it was from being run out of gas. It hasn't come back yet and the engine runs as smooth as silk with no misfires or anything of the sort. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. The 4WD system is tested and working properly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. If you're looking for a reliable little SUV that is good on gas and plenty capable of carrying cargo and going through snow, this little Ford Escape deserves your serious consideration. The has a current PA safety inspection good through the end of August, 2018. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
